What Are Verified Reviews?

A verified review is a review submitted by a customer who purchased from your store and responded to a review request email. Proviews automatically applies the Verified badge to these reviews — confirming the reviewer is a genuine buyer and giving shoppers confidence in the authenticity of your feedback.

Important: The verified badge is assigned automatically by Proviews based on purchase history. Merchants cannot manually apply the verified badge to any review.

How a review becomes verified: A customer completes a purchase → Proviews sends a review request email → the customer submits their review via the email link/form → Proviews automatically tags it as verified.

Where the badge appears: The verified badge displays on individual reviews across your storefront — on the Main Widget, Reviews Carousel, All Reviews Page, and other enabled widgets.

The Verified Reviews Count Badge displays the total number of published verified reviews your store has collected. It appears across review widgets including the Reviews Carousel and the All Reviews Page — giving shoppers an at-a-glance trust signal.

How to Add the Count Badge to Your Store

Step 1 – Customize the Badge

1. In Proviews, open the Verified Reviews Count Badge settings once your store has at least 25 published verified reviews.
2. Select a badge color that complements your store's theme.
3. If you are on a paid plan, toggle off Proviews branding for a cleaner, fully branded badge appearance.

Step 2 – Add the Badge to Your Theme

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → [Your Theme] → Edit Code.

2. Open the footer.liquid file. If your store's footer is managed by a different file, open that file instead.

3. Paste the following snippet at your preferred location within the file:

{{ shop.metafields.proviews.verified_badge.value }}

4. Click Save. The Verified Reviews Count Badge is now live on your storefront.

Badge is live! The count badge now appears in your store footer, displaying your total published verified review count.

Updating the badge later: Once the code snippet is in place, you never need to re-add it. To change the badge style or color, simply update your selection in Proviews and click Save — the change reflects on your storefront automatically, with no further code edits required.
