Finding the Product ID

The Product ID is the unique numeric identifier Shopify assigns to each product. Follow these steps to locate it:

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin panel.
  2. Navigate to Products in the left sidebar.
  3. Click on any product to open its detail page.
  4. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar.
  5. The Product ID is the string of numbers at the end of the URL.

Finding the Product Handle

The Product Handle is a URL-friendly version of your product name. Shopify generates it automatically when you create a product. Follow these steps to find it:

  1. Open your online store (not the admin panel).
  2. Navigate to the product page you want to identify.
  3. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar.
  4. Everything after /products/ is the Product Handle.

SEO Tip: Product Handles are important for SEO. Shopify generates them from your product title, creating keyword-rich URLs that help search engines understand your product pages. You can edit the handle in the product's SEO settings if needed.

Alternative Method: Find Handle in Shopify Admin

You can also find and edit the Product Handle directly in the Shopify admin:

  1. Open the product in your Shopify Admin.
  2. Scroll down to the Search engine listing section.
  3. Click Edit to view or modify the URL handle.
