Understanding Product Attributes

Before customizing these attributes, it is essential to understand their purpose and how they categorize products.

Product Title

A Product Title is the full name of the product that appears in search results and on shopping platforms. It provides a clear and concise description to help customers quickly understand the product.
Example: “Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB Black”

Product Name

A Product Name is the specific name of the product without additional details like size or color. It helps identify the exact model or type within its product line.
Example: “Google Pixel 8 Pro”

Product Line

A Product Line is a broad product category that groups related items with a common brand or features.
Example: “Google Pixel”

Submitting and optimizing these attributes helps Google understand the relationship between products and display them in a more organized manner to potential customers. The more information you provide, the higher the chances of your products appearing in relevant search results.

Steps to Customize Product Attributes

There are two ways to customize the Product Title, Name, and Line using our app:

1. Using a CSV file for bulk editing
2. Manual customization

Let’s explore each method.

Method 1: Using a CSV File for Bulk Editing

1. Navigate to the Manage Products page in the app.
2. Select the required products by clicking on the checkboxes.
   • To select all products, click on the Select All option.
3. Click on Do Edits in Bulk and select Export for Products Edit from the dropdown.
4. Choose the attributes you want to edit and click Export Products.
   • Uncheck the boxes for “Description” and “Type.”
5. Open the exported CSV file and make the required changes to the Product Title, Product Name, and Product Line fields.
6. Save the updated file.
7. Return to the app and click Import on the Manage Products page.
8. Select the saved file and import it.

Once imported, the updated attributes will be submitted to the Google Manufacturer Center within 30 minutes.

Undoing Changes

If you need to revert the changes, follow these steps:

1. Open the CSV file and delete the values in the relevant fields.
2. Save the file and import it back into the app following the same steps.
3. The changes will be undone automatically.

Method 2: Manual Customization

1. Go to the Manage Products page.
2. Select and open the product you want to update.
3. Locate the Product Title, Product Name, and Product Line fields under the Product Group ID section.
4. Click on the Edit icon next to the attribute you wish to update.
5. Enter the new values for the attributes.
6. Click Update Product at the top right corner of the screen.

Your updates will be submitted to the Google Manufacturer Center within 30 minutes.
